Arkansas Folk Singer Carolyn Carter began singing and playing music as a very small child in Arkansas. Like many folk and gospel singers, her music began with songs she learned in church. She wrote her first songs as a teenager. Carolyn continued singing as a young mom while raising three children during which she won The Marlboro Country Music Contest She decided to stay home and raise her children instead of touring the country. She now lives with her husband and most fervent supporter, Jeff Carter, in Mountain View, Arkansas. She has performed in the Ozark Mountain area of northern Arkansas for over 16 years and credits renowned Arkansas musician Odell Jackson as an early "inspiration" for her to write her stories through her own music.
